Matera

The Matera Collection from Opificio Ceramico is a deeply artisanal tile line that channels the raw beauty of volcanic-and-stone landscapes into crafted ceramic surfaces.

Each tile is from coloured refractory clays, poured and moulded by hand, then infused with a “coloured paste” that penetrates the clay body — a technique that adds depth and rich variation to the colours.

Drawing inspiration from the rugged terrain and ancient stones of the region its name evokes, the Matera palette ranges from deep “lava” blacks to sandy “sabbia”, warm “mattone” brick tones, soft “gesso” off-whites, and earthy greys like “pietra” or “cemento.”

Depending on the chosen colour and finish, you can evoke rustic, natural stone floors — perfect for spaces where texture, warmth, and authenticity matter — whether used on walls or floors, interior or exterior.
