“Love architecture, be it ancient or modern. Love it for its fantastic, adventurous and solemn creations; for its inventions; for the abstract, allusive and figurative forms that enchant our spirit and enrapture our thoughts.  Love architecture, the stage and support of our lives. Love it for the illusions of grace, lightness, serenity (…) Love it for its silence, in which lies its voice, its secret, potent song.”

Until 1960 industrial ceramics were considered as tiling materials guaranteed to assure practicality and hygiene. From Marazzi’s intuition that ceramics could become something more, a furnishing element that was an integral part of the environment, enriching and enhancing it to create great design and aesthetic value, came the collaboration with Giò Ponti and Alberto Rosselli. The first dialogue of excellence between design and industrial ceramics; the start of a journey which Marazzi has continued in time, adding new products, skills, experiences and projects.

For the Milan Triennale in 1960, Gio’ Ponti and Alberto Rosselli designed a 4-time curved ceramic brick with shiny surfaces and in different colours. Today Marazzi Tecnica presents its Triennale Project: an open dialogue between past and future, design and industrial production, form and matter, art and architecture, ceramic and porcelain, dedicated to the modern environments of today such as bathroom, kitchen and day areas.

“Ceramics are a wonderful material, one of the most incorruptible materials we dress architecture with a ceramic mosaic, and so the building too has a skin (...)”

Today Marazzi interprets Ponti and Rosselli’s original design, created for wall tiling, describing a project that is open to all vertical and horizontal surfaces.  In ceramic, porcelain stoneware and crystallised stoneware.

Out of the ordinary, light years from other projects on the market, in Triennale the focus is on design and creativity, to which the project brings a unique new twist, through three concepts that bind together to tell a story.  The essence of Triennale is expressed through the material of the series that make up the coordinated ceramic system of Marazzi Tecnica. An evolving project able to create, furnish and colour a range of settings.

SHAPE - From: simple, clean, precise, four times curved, the form though which Marazzi Tecnica products can be interpreted.

DESIGN - Italian, d'auteur, combining Gio' Ponti's love of ceramics and Rosselli's research with Marazzi's interpretation and production skills.

COLOUR - gloss or matt, contrast or tonsurton, colur stars throughout the Triennale Project in all the current shades of the Marazzi Colour Plan.
